Alex Vietmeier is an Emmy-nominated television director who has spent the last 15 years navigating the high-speed environment of late-night comedy, live music, and variety broadcast.
Since 2014, Alex has been the Director of Late Night with Seth Meyers at NBC, where he has helmed over 1,750 episodes and directs the Emmy-nominated digital series Corrections. His work is defined by a sharp creative eye and the timing and accuracy required to execute complex storytelling at the highest level.
Alex's approach is rooted in creative planning and precision execution—the ability to map out complicated shots and sequences with clarity and intent, and then deliver with flawless execution. Whether he is developing the look of a comedy sketch or calling the shots for a massive live moment like the opening number of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, he remains calm, cool, and collected.
